According to EITB Focus Survey on Intention to Vote in 2023 Regional Elections, the PSE-EE would be the third party with the most votes in the General Assemblies of Álava, Bizkaia and Gipuzkoa, but the voting intention would fall by 1%. The General Secretary of the PSE-EE, Eneko Andueza, predicts a good result for his party: “The Basque socialists will get a good result and we will again have the key”. In an interview with the Euskadi Irratia program “Faktoria”, he stated that there is stability in the percentage of votes. In any case, he stressed that the polls are just polls and that all that matters are the votes.
In his opinion, society values the work of Basque socialists in government coalitions quite well and “that’s what matters”. He stressed that there is still a year to go before that election date and that, as on other occasions, his voters will eventually mobilize.
asked by possible alliances, replied that they will decide based on the results and the programmes. However, it has put forward that stability and coexistence are the principles of the Basque socialists.
Eneko Andueza sees a left chord possible, but for that EH Bildu would have to set aside sovereignty in his opinion. In that sense, he has confirmed that the decision is on EH Bildu’s roof: “If he doesn’t give up sovereignty, he can’t do much with us”. Likewise, it has been willing to reach agreement with those who put the public interest first. He added that the debate on sovereignty does not play a role in society and that, given the current legal framework in the Basque Country, it makes no sense to address this issue, partly because it would break the current political climate and cause tensions .
