Vice Chancellor Werner Kogler (Greens) sharply criticizes the decision of the states to move away from the government’s target of 2.5 hectares in the land strategy: “It is called land for fields and not for unnecessary parking spaces,” he said in the “ZiB2 ” of a “Time for Repentance.”
On Thursday, the states decided to go it alone and establish their own strategy, abandoning the binding target of a maximum of 2.5 hectares of net consumption per day from 2030. The neighborhood association also opposed this goal.
Kogler is not particularly impressed by the agreement between the states: “Everyone can decide everything.” The Vice Chancellor does not mind that the states presented their plans, but clearly expects action: “Just because you find the platform does not mean an achievement, sorry state governors.”
Kogler hopes for pressure from the population
However, Kogler is optimistic that popular and media pressure will eventually be enough: “Eventually the states will have to give in.”
Because in the interest of the population it can no longer be converted into areas or even concreted.
