The former president would do this via video conference and voluntarily in the case opened last February for alleged terrorist crimes in the so-called ‘Democratic Tsunami case’.
Supreme Court Judge Susana Polo has summoned former Catalan president and MP Carles Puigdemont and regional deputy Rubén Wagensberg for investigation so that they can voluntarily testify via videoconference between June 17 and 21 in the case opened last February for alleged terrorist crimes in the so-called ‘Democratic Tsunami Case’.
In an order announced today, the investigating judge indicates that the statements will be made via videoconference and that the persons under investigation must be present accompanied by a lawyer, as soon as their whereabouts and addresses are known. To this end, the judge has issued a European Investigation Order (OEI) and/or an International Rogatory Commission in criminal matters through EUROJUST.
The magistrate points out that this summons was agreed in accordance with the above and in express accordance with the order issued by the Admissions Chamber on February 29, when it agreed to open a criminal case against the two suspects (Puigdemont and Wagensberg) for terrorist offenses. regarding the facts investigated in the ‘Tsunami Democratic’ case.
The decision specifies that the date of the videoconferences is initially set during that period – between June 17 and 21 – but also specifies that the specific day will be set later, by mutual agreement between the requesting and requested states.
