Excitement in the Tyrolean capital. “Several people have informed us that they are waiting in vain for their voting card.” With these words, Andrea Haselwanter-Schneider, top candidate on the Fritz list in the elections in Innsbruck, reported to the “Krone” on Tuesday. Apparently right, as it turned out.
A phone call to the city’s media office revealed that the voting cards had in fact disappeared without a trace. “So far we know of twenty people whose voting card has not arrived. We don’t know the reason,” it said. Considering the 13,000 voting cards sent out so far, this is “a manageable number.”
Those affected are out of luck
For those affected, this means that they cannot check off any of the thirteen lists. Because “a voting card cannot be applied for twice”. Haselwanter-Schneider calls for voting cards to only be sent by registered mail in the future.
