Investigations are underway – Blue confrontation with Kickl and Co. in the University Committee

Date:

The University Committee on the “red-blue abuse of power” has been blue until now, but especially on Thursday. FPÖ party leader Herbert Kickl is interviewed early in the afternoon. Afterwards, Kickl’s former chief of staff and close confidante Reinhard Teufel (currently chairman of the FPÖ club in Lower Austria) will provide information. The “Krone” is there for you.

The Red-Blue abuse of power investigation committee was actually intended as a political counterbalance for the ÖVP to the COFAG committee set up by the FPÖ and the SPÖ. As has been reported several times, the ÖVP has so far focused exclusively on the Freedom Party when summoning and interrogating people. The revelations in the espionage affair surrounding Egisto Ott and the blue wires of the ‘Russian spy’ Jan Marsalek provide extra explosiveness in the committee. Today there is a “blue showdown”. What’s happened so far The surveys started on Thursday morning with the FPÖ’s former head of communications. The focus of his investigation was on the FPÖ’s contacts with the platform “unzensuriert.at”, where the respondent previously worked. Together with the platform, the FPÖ spread “deliberately fake news”, ÖVP faction leader Hanger is certain of this, and wants to prove this with a video. Chats revealed by the “Krone” show how the FPÖ fed right-wing media with money. The respondent rejected this. The FPÖ asked its party member about the allocation of posts at the Ministry of the Interior. The Freedom Party responded that he had exerted political pressure on Lower Austrian Governor Johanna Mikl-Leitner in connection with filling the position of director of the state police in Lower Austria. After the former chief of blue communications, the former deputy office manager of the former Secretary General of the Ministry of the Interior, Peter Goldgruber, was invited. As is known, Goldgruber did not respond to his questions in the committee. The following points were or are central to the parties: ÖVP committee chairman Andreas Hanger wants to examine the FPÖ’s contacts with Egisto Ott. He wants proof that the FPÖ and Interior Minister Kickl secured a high position in the newly structured secret service for the already suspended intelligence officer after the raid on BVT. The FPÖ denies this. Christian Hafenecker, Secretary General of the FPÖ and “U Committee expert”, was usually aggressive at the start of the investigation day, telling Hanger: “If I want to hear funny messages, I go to the Simpl cabaret. Even Mr. Niavarani is funnier than Mr. Hanger.” The SPÖ wants to tackle the blue media policy. Red women boss Eva Maria Holzleitner wants to take a closer look at the “entanglements with Carinthian media agencies”. For Meri Disoski, the green group leader on the committee, a ‘picture of infiltration’ emerges; the FPÖ is a party of ‘puppets of a puppet-playing dictator called Putin, and puppets dance the way Putin wants them to’. NEOS faction leader Yannick Shetty wants to shed light on “whether there was any personal enrichment at Kickl.” About the live ticker:
