Lately, Vösendorf has been unable to calm down from the political impact. Even after the elections, in which the controversial mayor Hannes Koza won an absolute majority, things are still going well: the ÖVP politician breaks with his state party and resigns from all positions. He wants to remain the local boss.
It is known that the Lower Austrian People’s Party has not been a big fan of Hannes Koza lately. The mayor of Vösendorf had forced new elections in the municipality after falsifying invoices, but the procedure was stopped after a diversion. And came away as a big winner. He now gave the ‘Standard’ a surprising interview that made people sit up and take notice.
No access to the National Council
There Koza announced that he would withdraw from all party positions outside the municipal boundaries of Vösendorf. This means that he will not be on the state list for the National Council elections. Why? “Because I still have to think about the approach and support of my colleagues in the district,” says Koza.
When asked about the mayor of Mödling, who is considered Koza’s opponent within the party, the local leader said: “He doesn’t care, I mean in general.” In any case, it should now be clear why the ÖVP was no longer on the ballot paper in the municipal elections. Koza came with a list of names.
