The judge dictates suspension of sentence for the ‘craftsmen of peace’ Etcheverry and Molle

Date:

During the trial held last April before the Paris Criminal Court, the defense of the two defendants requested the acquittal of both, arguing that they had actively contributed to the first step in the disarmament of ETA.

The judge of Paris Correctional Court responsible for judging the ‘craftsmen of peace’ Jean Noel Etcheverry Txetx and Beatrice Molle has declared the two activists guilty of the offenses with suspension of their sentences. That means they don’t have to go to jail.

They were arrested just over seven years ago in Luhuso (Lapurdi) when they helped dismantle ETA’s arsenals. They faced a prosecutor’s demand for 10 years in prison and a fine of 100,000 euros on charges of possession and transport of weapons, ammunition and explosives and ties to ETA.

The expansion will continue
