The parliament of Navarra denounces the ‘genocide’ in the Gaza Strip

An amendment from the PSN has been included in the motion to add a new point in which the parliament of Navarre condemns the “terrorist attacks” on the State of Israel by Hamas.

The plenary session of the Navarra Parliament approved this Thursday a motion by EH Bildu, which allows the legislature denounces the ‘genocide’ in the Gaza Strip and demands that Israel comply with international humanitarian law and UN resolutions.

The resolution was approved with the votes in favor of PSN, EH Bildu, Geroa Bai and Contigo-Zurekin, the abstention of UPN (14) and the votes against of PPN and Vox. The regionalist Iñaki Iriarte, who enjoys voting freedom from his party on this point, voted for point one.

An amendment from the PSN has been incorporated into the motion to add a new point to the Navarre parliament condemns the “terrorist attacks” against the State of Israel by Hamas, which have caused hundreds of deaths and injuries, and demands the immediate release of the hostages. EH Bildu has indicated that he will accept the socialist motion, but will abstain from voting for this reason.

The spokesperson of EH Bildu, Laura Aznalhas declared that the situation in Gaza is “unbearable” because of the “genocide that Israel is carrying out.”

The socialist parliamentarian Olga Chueca has denounced the “unbearable situation in which the Gaza Strip finds itself,” which is “cornered” and “hungry” in the face of the Israeli offensive.

Irene Royoof the PP intervened in the negative vote to emphasize that the situation in Gaza “is unbearable” and “what is urgent is the ceasefire, the release of the hostages and humanitarian aid”, although he believes that the motion by EH Bildu “is out of balance.”
