Georg Knill was re-elected as chairman of the Industrial Association. In an interview with department head Rainer Nowak, he explains why he was the only candidate, what he demands from the EU and the next government and how he personally gets along with SP leader Andreas Babler and FPÖ chairman Herbert Kickl.
“Kron”: Mr. President, I congratulate you on the almost North Korean outcome of your re-election.
George Knill: I am very grateful and satisfied with the election results, because they impressively demonstrate the unity and solidarity of the trade association. Based on our experiences four years ago, we adjusted our articles of association. And such a solid election result is not of a communist nature, but of a democratic result, but a very clear, very unequivocal result for me and also for my vice presidents, which shows the unity of the organization. This also shows that as a team we stand together for the Austrian location policy, especially in these challenging times. I am therefore very grateful and happy and look forward to being able to help shape the next four years. It may be that the next four years will be at least as politically challenging as the last.
