Last government council, contact round in Catalonia and Saretzen: pets

– Last governing council of Urkullu: After twelve years at the head of the Basque government, the Lehendakari, Iñigo Urkullu, will preside over his last government council and his last official act next Tuesday in Lehendakaritza. After the investiture session on Thursday, Urkullu will hand over Makila command to his successor, Jeltzale Imanol Pradales, at the Gernika Board House.

– Contact round in Catalonia: The president of Catalonia’s parliament, Josep Rull, will start the round of contacts with the parliamentary groups – which will last until Wednesday – to nominate a candidate for a possible inauguration during a plenary session on June 25. Specifically, Rull will meet with PP, Vox and Comuns in the morning, and with the mixed group —CUP and Aliança Catalana separately— in the afternoon; Wednesday is the day with PSC, Junts and ERC. Socialist Salvador Illa will ask the Speaker of Parliament for “more time” to be able to formulate a “progressive majority” with the ERC and Comuns that will allow his appointment as the next President of the Generalitat.

– Saretzen Report: Pets: According to the fourth installment of the Saretzen report, drawn up between EiTB and Tokikom, there are already more dogs than children under the age of 15 in Hegoalde. While throughout the European Union (EU) the cat is the favorite pet of citizens, dogs are the most important companion animals in the Spanish state; one in four families has the unconditional presence of a dog, while in Euskadi and Navarra this figure drops slightly to around one in five families.
