The top candidate of the Tyrolean Greens for the 2023 state elections has already been determined after an online election. The result is still in the making. Today, Saturday, the secret will be revealed at a state meeting in Kufstein. Social Councilor Gabriele Fischer and the head of the state parliament club Gebi Mair competed for the front role. They each applied as a duo – Fischer with LA Georg Kaltschmid and Mair with health expert Petra Wohlfahrtsstätter.
In any case, the co-partner of the winning duo will take second place on the national list. From June 3 to 7, 285 of the 382 party members entitled to vote chose the top candidate or the top duo in an online election. Strict silence was agreed on the result until the state meeting in Kufstein town hall.
Choice mode was tried for the first time. Both Mair and Fischer left their futures open after the state elections, which will take place next spring at the latest.
coalition partners as observers
The election results are also closely monitored by state coalition partner ÖVP. Recently, there has been major disagreement over a green push for a general speed reduction on all roads. The duel between Fischer and Mair only came about after the announced resignation of the Greens deputy governor Ingrid Felipe after the state elections.
