Red Cross shooters – Doskozil shoots towards Vienna and Carinthia

Date:

He can’t do anything about it: Burgenland’s governor, Hans Peter Doskozil, held back in the debate on the SPÖ’s asylum and migration line, but criticized his Viennese and Carinthian comrades for the shift in renaturation. There was a comeback for city councilor Peter Hacker.

Doskozil does not understand that the mayor of Vienna, Michael Ludwig, and the governor of Carinthia, Peter Kaiser, have abandoned the joint resolution of all countries against the EU renaturation regulation. “That’s not my style,” he said during the ORF press hour on Sunday. It is also not customary at the conference of state governors to subsequently revoke unanimous decisions.

“ÖVP has bad style”
But he also criticized the ÖVP’s response. “What the ÖVP is doing is the worst solution.” Either they accept Environmental Protection Minister Leonore Gewessler’s solo approach, or they believe she has broken the law and ended the coalition. “But continuing to govern and report to the minister is bad form,” Doskozil said.

Doskozil sharply criticized his internal party enemy, city councilor Peter Hacker. In an interview with the ‘Krone’, he played down the alarming figures that most children in Vienna’s primary schools now adhere to the Muslim faith, saying that “it doesn’t matter, everyone can practice their religion as he or she wants.” Doskozil countered on Sunday that he had no understanding of these statements and was critical of this development. Austria is a Christian country and has a Christian tradition.

Doskozil and hackers don’t care about each other. Hacker recently said about Doskozil in the “Krone”: “Sometimes I think to myself: I feel sorry for him. What should drive him to continually take such positions?”
