The 44-year-old Councillor for Social Affairs Wolfgang Hattmannsdorfer succeeds the outgoing Secretary General Karlheinz Kopf.
The ambitious Upper Austrian Social Councillor Wolfgang Hattmannsdorfer (44) is entering the federal political stage: he will succeed the outgoing Secretary General Karlheinz Kopf (67) in the Federal Economic Chamber.
Former club chairman retires
Kopf was club chairman of the People’s Party in Parliament, later also second chairman of the National Council and is currently still a member of the National Council. Hattmannsdorfer will also join the National Council after the elections for the National Council in September.
He was regional manager of the ÖVP in Upper Austria and has been regional councillor for social affairs, integration and youth since 2021. It remains to be seen who will follow him into the state government in Upper Austria. State Secretary Claudia Plakolm (29) is considered a candidate, but her return to her home state is considered unlikely.
