It will be retroactive from January 1. This increase represents a cost of 89 million euros.
The Basque Government Council on Tuesday approved a 2% salary increase for this year 2024 for the couple public employees of the Autonomous Community of the Basque Country, as explained at a press conference by the spokesperson for the executive power and Minister of Government, María Ubarretxena.
The increase will be applied to the payroll of civil servants in July and will take effect retroactively from 1 January 2024.
All government employees, that is, the staff of the General Administration, Security, Education, Justice and Osakidetza, as well as autonomous organizations, private public entities and public sector consortia, will benefit from this increase.
It’s an increase collected in the general budgets for this in 2024 and costs € 89 million euros.
The increase will take place on the amount of the payroll as of December 31, 2023. This amount was updated by 0.5% in February of this year by an agreement of the Government Council.
