New information on the return and escape of the former president of the Generalitat, Carlos Puigdemont. Junts general secretary Jordi Turull announced on Friday that Puigdemont had dinner with him last Tuesday in Barcelonatwo days before he appeared again in Barcelona. In addition, both Turull and lawyer Gonzalo Boye have confirmed that the former president is now president outside the Spanish state“at home”. “He is in a safe place, outside Barcelona, Catalonia and the state,” the lawyer said.

Turull, interviewed in Rac1, reported that Puigdemont arrived incognito in Catalonia at least two days beforehand: “He slept in Barcelona on Tuesday,” he stated, although he did not specify where.

For his part, in an interview with Radio Euskadi (he has also previously spoken on Rac1), Boye did not want to specify where the Junts leader is: “I don’t know, I spoke to him last night, I assume he is at home, at work.” has said – and argued that this announcement concerns Puigdemont himself. Thus, he has stated that the former president will address between “today and tomorrow” to citizens in a public message.

In Boye’s words, that was the former president’s intention “Go to Barcelona and come back home, which is normal”since “no one likes to be arrested for amnestied offenses.”

Asked about Turull’s summons for alleged obstruction of justice, he asked who is “the total illiterate” that he says these facts constitute a crime,” and he added that he is not afraid of his possible accusation. “You see me leaving the gym,” he said.

Regarding Llarena’s request, Boye challenged him to make a euro order against Puigdemontalthough he added that he certainly will not do so “because he knows that his decision on the amnesty will not make it across the Pyrenees.”

Puigdemont has been missing since yesterday, after briefly reappearing at a Junts event in Barcelona. The Mossos D’Esquadra launched Operation “Cage”, with checks at various points on the Catalan road network, to try to find the former president. However, the operation was deactivated in the afternoon.

In this context, two police officers were arrested on charges of collaborating in Puigdemont’s escape, and a judge on duty in Barcelona summoned the secretary general of JxCat, Jordi Turull, to testify for the alleged crime of obstruction of justice.
