The climate bonus is coming! The payment will take place this year from September 2 – again without application and automatically. As the Ministry of Climate has announced, more than 90 percent of all people who qualify for it already receive it directly.
The basic amount this year is 145 euros, including regional compensation, the payout levels are 145, 195, 245 and 290 euros.
This year, there are approximately 2.1 million transfers scheduled daily. This means that the payouts should now be completed within the first week. In the first year, there were only 300,000 transactions per day.
Postal delivery takes a little longer
At the same time, mail deliveries will begin in the first week of September. The number of vouchers sent by mail has decreased by about a third since the start of the climate bonus. According to the ministry, this corresponds to a saving of about 400,000 letters.
This year, about 847,000 RSa and RSb letters will be delivered personally. That would take about eight weeks, they said.
Climate Protection Minister Leonore Gewessler (Greens) praised the payment of the climate bonus as “one of the largest digitalization projects in the country”. More than 7.8 million citizens will receive it directly into their accounts within a few days – “without having to do anything”, says Gewessler: “This is impressive throughout Europe.”
