Parliamentary Substitute Bench – 5 years of National Council: departure, comeback, farewell

Date:

Not all 183 members of parliament survived the entire term. Who had to go first? How many returned? Who was sworn in in two e-mails? And where do the parties park their staff reserves on the replacement bench?

The National Council actually consists of 183 members. However, in the past five years, 214 people have been elected to the National Council. There is also a turnover of staff among members of parliament. Krone+ analysed which parties had to fall back on the bench most often, which politicians had the shortest parliamentary careers and who was sworn in twice in this term of office – and who was eliminated twice.
