Member of Parliament Michael Gruber has been state manager of the Freedom Party in Upper Austria for two years. Finally, he had to be reminded who was in charge of the Blues.
On the way to becoming a state-supporting party, our own state manager and member of the state parliament, Michael Gruber, has now laid some heavy stones. It is known that the Blues are not happy with the colorful rainbow flag. But symbolically putting it in a green (coincidence?) garbage can goes too far for many in the party – according to the ‘Krone’.
“Cleaning up for Austria”
However, this is not the first time that Gruber has attracted attention with the campaign entitled “Cleaning up for Austria”. In the leadership circle of the Upper Austrian Freedom Party around LH deputy Manfred Haimbuchner, people have long wondered about Gruber’s self-dramatization. It even went so far that someone close to Manfred Haimbuchner had to remind the army sergeant of Pettenbach who was actually the head of the Freedom Party.
Upper Austria against Kickl-Brachial rhetoric
One thing is for sure: Gruber works hard and travels a lot through the country. He wants to know what moves people. Only: The leadership of the FPÖ in Upper Austria has turned away from the brutal rhetoric of Vienna and is following its own, quiet path. Gruber’s harsh statements in the style of Herbert Kickl are very uncomfortable – even if it is part of the party secretary’s job to show a lead. A party insider recently said of Gruber’s activities on social media: “Please just take his cell phone away from him.”
What career does he have ahead of him? The position of club chairman in the state parliament will soon be vacant. Acting club boss Herwig Mahr has already been reminded that he is 65 years old and that younger people are aiming for his position. Gruber was considered the favorite for the job, but according to reports nothing will come of it. Member of Parliament Thomas Dim has a good chance. He is also deputy mayor of Ried im Innkreis and thus represents the Innviertel, which is so important to the PVV. One thing is certain: it remains exciting.
