“The Alderdi Eguna will unite us in the internal renewal process”

The secretary of the Euzkadi Buru Batzar, Mireia Zarate, presented this Saturday in Foronda (Vitoria) the 48th edition of the Alderdi Eguna that the PNV will celebrate next Sunday on the fields of this town in Álava.

‘Alderdia Gara’ (in Spanish: ‘We are the party’) is the motto that the PNV has chosen for the Alderdi Eguna that will celebrate the next sunday 29a day that will serve to be “more united than ever” to face the process that will lead to the general assembly that must decide whether or not there is a new president of the party.

Zarate has assured that this Alderdi Eguna will be “very special” because it will starting signal for the internal process which will culminate in the general assembly to be held in half a year, in March 2025, when the national executive will be renewed and the party’s presidency will be decided, a position for which the current holder, Andoni Ortuzar, has not yet announced whether he will run for re-election or not.

“It is our moment, the moment of the game, and the game is us, hence the chosen motto this year: ‘Alderdia Gara'”, Zarate explained. “Alderdia Gara also because it is an honour to be part of the party that has brought Euskadi to this point; because we are proud of our path, of our representatives and above all of our people, of our solidarity and of our fighting spirit; of all the people who are part of EAJ-PNV”. He also emphasised “Alderdia Gara”, because it is the day to be more united than ever.

Zarate also revealed the range of activities that the Alderdi Eguna offers outside the political event, such as the Txiki-Txoko with games room and bouncy castles, jumping, Zine 5d, Aerogiro, Rokodromo, Zipline, Paintball, Truck Simulators, Virtual Games, the Herri Kirolak, the pilgrimage and after dinner the Disko-Festa.

An Alderdi Eguna of 400,000 square meters, where around 20,000 meals will be served and that is possible thanks to the almost 90 volunteers who have been committed to organizing the event for three weeks.
