Never seen the ad? – Pilnacek case turns ugly: witness changes statement

Date:

There has been a twist in the Pilnacek case: Karin Wurm, who had filed a complaint, has now corrected her earlier statements. As a result, two police officers have been under investigation for abuse of office since April.

As “Die Presse” reported online on Sunday evening, Wurm now claims that he has never seen the ads. It was a “mistake” to “go into business with Peter Pilz.” The founder of List Now and editor of ZackZack came up with the idea for the ad. He contacted Wurm in February and met with her. Volker Sackmann, one of Pilz’s lawyers, filed the complaint.

The two police officers are accused of unlawfully taking personal belongings from Christian Pilnacek shortly after his death. Pilnacek died suddenly in October 2023, his body was discovered in a tributary of the Danube. A forensic medical report concluded that the 60-year-old had probably committed suicide. A few hours before his death, he was arrested by police for drunk driving.

“I wanted to shed some light on the matter”
“Because I wanted to shed some light on the matter. Because I still don’t believe in an accident or suicide,” Wurm said of the reason she met Pilz after Pilnacek’s death. She “didn’t get a dime” and was merely a “means to an end.” According to the report, the items, including Pilnacek’s cell phone and wallet, were handed over by Wurm’s roommate.

The investigation into the two police officers for abuse of office has so far yielded little. However, a 60-respondent investigative commission during Pilnacek’s term of office revealed anomalies, such as evidence of a “two-tiered justice system” between 2010 and 2023. The report can be found on the Ministry of Justice’s website.
