After Israel assassinated Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasrallah, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu hinted at further attacks. The work is not done yet, challenging days lie ahead…
The assassination of Nasrallah was a necessary, historic step to change the balance of power in the Middle East, Netanyahu said on Saturday evening.
Meanwhile, Israeli Defense Minister Yoav Gallant is in talks about a possible expansion of the military offensive in the north of the country. A corresponding assessment of the situation is underway, his office explained.
Missile from Yemen
Rocket alarms have been sounded again in several areas in central Israel and in the coastal metropolis of Tel Aviv. The warning sirens in Tel Aviv sounded in response to a missile from Yemen, the military said. It was therefore intercepted before reaching Israeli territory.
Yemen’s Houthi militia said it had attacked Tel Aviv’s Ben-Gurion airport with a ballistic missile. The militia will not hesitate to “increase the level of military escalation against Israel,” Houthi military spokesman Yahya Sari said. A ceasefire would only be called into question if Israeli attacks on the Gaza Strip and Lebanon ended.
