High management position – Katharina Nehammer has a new job at Agrarverlag

Date:

Chancellor Katharina Nehammer’s wife has a new job: she takes on the role of Chief Operating Officer (COO) of the Viennese agricultural publisher, which publishes specialized magazines such as “Holzkurier”, “Pferderevue” and “Der Winzer”.

The publishing house was part of the Raiffeisen group for a few months; before that it belonged to the Lower Austrian Peasant Association. After the takeover it was partially reorganized. Nehammer is responsible for the operational management of the publishing house and advertising material provider of the Raiffeisen Group.

Nehammer is considered the most influential advisor to her husband, Chancellor Karl Nehammer. The German magazine “Spiegel” even described her in the past as a “shadow chancellor”.

Nehammer’s career started at ORF
With Nehammer, the agricultural publisher brought an experienced communications expert on board. The daughter of former ORF television presenter Peter Nidetzky also started her career at the public broadcaster before switching to the then television station Puls TV.

Nehammer worked for Kurz, Sobotka and Tanner
After helping with the 2004 election campaign of ÖVP presidential candidate Benita Ferrero-Waldner, she entered politics and worked at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs under Sebastian Kurz. After working as a press spokeswoman for then-Interior Minister Wolfgang Sobotka, her path led her to the cabinet of Defense Minister Klaudia Tanner. Only in the summer did she move to the “Schütze.Positionierung” agency as a senior consultant.
