Donald Trump has once again railed against migration policies under the current administration – and especially against Vice President Kamala Harris, who is his rival in the presidential election campaign. This would have allowed thousands of ‘murderers’ into the country. These bring ‘bad genes’ into the country, the 78-year-old said on Monday.
These killers, you know, I think it’s in their genes. And we have a lot of bad genes in our country right now,” the former president said in a radio interview. The right-wing populist has relied on extreme anti-immigrant rhetoric during the election campaign, insulting undocumented immigrants at almost every appearance in his campaign and declaring that he would order a mass deportation of migrants if re-elected.
Before his first term (2017-2021), Trump announced the construction of a wall on the 3,000 kilometer long border with Mexico, which he subsequently never realized.
Speaking of Mexico, the Republican has also announced a massive tightening of his protectionist trade policies. At a campaign rally in Wisconsin on Sunday, he threatened tariffs of up to 200 percent on vehicles imported from Mexico. “We will not allow these cars to enter the United States,” Trump said at an airport in Juneau, Wisconsin.
The racing remains very close
Four weeks before the presidential election on November 5, opponents Trump and Harris are tied in the polls in many places. Due to the peculiarities of the American electoral system, the election will likely be decided only in a few states where the outcome is particularly close.
