Lower Austria’s ÖVP leader Johanna Mikl-Leitner calls on the future government to “end false tolerance.” Stricter measures must be taken at school to combat the unwillingness to integrate.
The leadership team of the ÖVP Lower Austria gathered state party leader Johanna Mikl-Leitner yesterday to subject the results of the National Council elections to a brutal analysis. The verdict: “We are not satisfied with the result that the ÖVP has achieved!”
Boundary lines drawn
And apparently the black leadership in St. Pölten also took the opportunity to demarcate boundary lines for the federal party for coalition negotiations with the SPÖ and Neos. Because with the PVV, the implementation of one of their central demands would probably not be a problem: the state governor advocates stricter measures against the unwillingness to integrate.
No bullying about pork
“70 percent of Austrians are afraid of their cultural identity,” the ÖVP politician said. And more and more cases of refusal to integrate prove that “we have to start at school,” Mikl-Leitner emphasizes. It is not acceptable for students to be ‘bullied just because they eat pork’.
Dramatically increase penalties
Above all, parents’ obligation to cooperate must be more strictly enforced. The means to achieve this: “Stricter penalties are needed,” Mikl-Leitner is convinced. The current fine margin of 400 euros should be increased to 2,500 euros: “That was not possible with the Greens, but it must be included in the specifications of the new government!”
