The Socialists will respond with a new complaint against that of Alberto Núñez Feijóo for insults and slander.
National Court judge Santiago Pedraz has rejected that there is sufficient evidence to admit the complaint filed by the PP against the PSOE and several defendants in the so-called “Koldo case” for alleged irregular financing.
In accordance with the position of the Anti-Corruption Public Prosecutor’s Office, the magistrate believes that the journalistic information on which the PP was based is not sufficient to open an investigation, but rather that according to case law it should be supported “in some data, fact or circumstance” that defines criminal behavior.
“In general terms, news in itself does not legitimize any actor popular for transforming the journalistic story into a story of criminal offenses that give rise to criminal prosecution. Something more is needed,” Pedraz said in the order in which he agreed to dismiss the complaint.
The member of the organizing committee of the Federal Congress of the PSOE, Enma López, has celebrated the rejection of the complaint and confirmed that the Socialists will respond with a new complaint against that of Alberto Núñez Feijóo for insults and defamation.
