Pello Otxandiano explained that they met with the three Deputies General and sent them a “concrete and quantified” proposal for each area. However, he regretted that “at this time” they had not met with the PNV and PSE-EE parliamentary groups.
The spokesperson of EH Bildu, Otxandiano hairhas revealed that his coalition has been celebrating meetings with the three general deputies of Álava, Bizkaia and Gipuzkoa, within their proposal for global budgets for the four main Basque institutions (Basque government and regional entities), and who have submitted a “concrete and quantified” proposal for each area. “The reception has been correct”has described in detail, although he has at least ruled out encryption from the approach.
However, regarding the budgets of the Basque Government, he assured that the parliamentary groups of the PNV and the PSE-EE “have refused to engage in dialogue” on the bills and that it has therefore “not been possible at this time to create a space for dialogue”. The executive branch plans to present its budget project this Tuesday, as he recalled.
Otxandiano has defended his proposal for a global budget agreement, explaining that it is done from a ‘country view’ aimed at seeking ‘transformative stability’. “The proposal is based on common sense,” emphasizes Otxandiano, for whom it is not possible “to say that the challenges and uncertainty are enormous” and at the same time “continue to do more or less the same”, because we live in a time when “ requires abandoning traditionalism.”
EH Bildu views the context of “instability” with concern and cites as an example the uncertainty in France, Spain and Europe, which will increase due to the American elections. “In this global context, our country is a small country with strengths and weaknesses,” he noted.
In this sense, he has appreciated the existence of a “shared rhetoric”, which must be transferred to public policy. “We all talk about the need to make a leap, to leave spaces of comfort… In more sectoral areas, perhaps there is a common vision of what needs to be done. No one doubts that access to housing is a right that can be implemented. , that Osakidetza is in a process of decline and that we must intervene,” he reflected. That is why he has advocated opening “space for dialogue” and believes that it is “normal and logical” for governments “to deal with the opposition negotiate before presenting a budget project”.
