At the moment, official candidate Jone Berriozabal has a clear lead over Gorka Urtaran, but today could be a decisive appointment. Those of Vitoria-Gasteiz are the most important assemblies of Álava, the ones with the most militants.
He Basque Nationalist Party (PNV) started its long internal process – which lasts almost six months – on October 17, completing the territorial assembliesthe National Assembly, as well as the eight members of the EBB and its president. The Yeltzal bases will also debate and establish their positions political line for the coming years.
Today the meeting will take place in the four batzokis of Vitoria-Gasteiz, where the second and final round of voting for the presidency of Araba Buru Batzarra (ABB) will take place. In the first round, the regional representative for Equality, Basque Country and Governance and official candidate, Jone Berriozabal, won comfortably in the four assemblies of the capital Álava against the official candidacy of the former mayor of the city Gorka Urtaran.
For now, Berriozabal has pretty much won 20 settings and Urtaran at age 10. Those of Vitoria-Gastez are the batzokis with the most militants, so today’s votes could be decisive. According to the established bases, the person who gets the support of 32 representatives wins the race, and 10 will be decided today.
In Bizkaia and Gipuzkoa it seems to be clearer who will almost certainly take control. In Bizkaia has the former president of the Basque Energy entity Inigo Ansolahas won in almost all municipal assemblies and in Gipuzkoa, Maria Eugenia Arrizabalaga receives majority support.
