Ubarretxena stated that the aim is to reach a “broader” agreement on the bills, which have already been guaranteed approval in the Basque Parliament thanks to the absolute majority of the PNV and PSE-EE.

Ubarretxena explained that D’Anjou will present a new proposal to the groups in the second round of budget meetings that will start today. This proposal – he added – will “take into consideration” the measures proposed by the opposition, as some of these proposals have already been “collected” in the document that the counsel will present.

“We know that we have an absolute majorityBut the government is honestly trying to reach more agreements and we are exercising political will,” he said.

Ubarretxena called on the opposition to also act with “political responsibility” and based on the “general interest of Euskadi”. ‘The country needs it’he added.
