The Minister of Economy, Labor and Employment says that if the sovereign coalition does not materialize, he will “disappoint” his electorate.
The Deputy Lehendakari and Minister of Economy, Labor and Employment of the Basque Government, Michael Torresconsider that “It could be very close” the agreement with EH Bildu on the Basque budgets for 2025 and has warned that, if this were not the case, the sovereigntist formation would “disappoint” its electorate, because the executive has retained “a firm will” and an “attempt” dialogue, especially when it does not need support to implement the bills.
In an interview with Onda Vasca, Torres pointed out that the fact that both sides were in dialogue until the last moment “good sign” because at no point did they leave the negotiating table, and the Basque government has kept its “hand outstretched” from the beginning.
“We have very good budgets, which can be improved with the contributions that all groups could have made, and we hope that this responsibility what has as the first opposition partyalso use it in the budgets,” he added. That is why he expects a “positive” attitude from EH Bildu.
At the same time, EH Bildu’s parliamentary spokesperson, Pello Otxandiano, confirmed in another radio interview to Euskadi Irratia that the coalition will not change the entire budget project of the Basque government and that it will therefore continue to negotiate.
