On the International Day of Human Rights, special attention should be paid to the importance of human rights. The Universal Declaration of Human Rights was proclaimed in 1948 as a resolution of the United Nations. It defines the fundamental rights and freedoms of people in the world, including the right to life, liberty and security.
As a major milestone in our history, it has helped change many things for the better. But current global events also bring challenges. Although the human rights situation in Austria can generally be described as good, the situation worldwide is unfortunately different. The motto this year is all the better: “Human rights for all”.
How do you assess the human rights situation in 2024? Which rights do you think are particularly at risk and how can this be countered? Write us your opinion about this in the comments!
