Is there an attack on the EU? – Russia is apparently preparing for a major war

Date:

The new EU Commissioner for Defense, Andrius Kubilius, has bad things in store for him. While the Kremlin is stockpiling countless tanks, Europe is unprepared for a possible attack, he warns.

“To be honest, we are not sufficiently prepared for an attack,” Lithuanian Kubilius revealed to the newspapers of the German Editorial Network (RND, Friday editions). “It will take years before we in Europe have the capabilities required for NATO plans.”

Secret services warn of an emergency
Kubilius referred to statements by the secret services that Russia would be ready to attack EU states in 2030. “Experts say Russia is now producing more tanks than it deploys on the front lines,” the EU commissioner warned. “There are countless tanks being stored and of course I wonder: why is Russia doing this? What is Putin doing? We can only speculate about it.” But it is important to be prepared for the “emergency that the secret services warn about,” Kubilius added.

We must protect ourselves from Russia
The new European Commission led by Ursula von der Leyen officially took office on December 1. Together with Kaja Kallas, head of EU foreign policy, Kubilius wants to present a strategy paper on security and defense during his first 100 days in office. The 67-year-old conservative has already called for significantly higher investment in this area to protect the EU from Russia.
