The former spokesman for the right-wing extremist Identitarian Movement, Martin Sellner, has sued the Green Party secretary Olga Voglauer for defamation. The background is Voglauer’s claim that Sellner gave the Hitler salute at a rally in July. The court is now calling for the politician’s parliamentary immunity to be lifted.
In July, Sellner allegedly attended a “counter-event” organized by “Grandmas Against the Right” against his own performance in Saarbrücken and gave the Hitler salute, people at the demonstration claimed at the time. After the alleged incident became known, Voglauer wrote further. In a civil suit, Voglauer was therefore sentenced to a revocation.
The regional court has now requested the extradition of the National Council members. This must be dealt with in the National Council. It must be decided whether or not Voglauer’s comment was part of her parliamentary work.
Greens: “Try to take action against political criticism”
Her party responded to the news magazine “Profil” on the actions of the right-wing extremist with the following words: “Martin Sellner is trying to use all possible means to combat political criticism in this media lawsuit, which revolves around a tweet. The approach speaks for itself.”
