The state elections in Burgenland will take place on January 19. But like thousands of Burgenlanders, FPÖ candidate Norbert Hofer also casts his vote earlier.
Strictly speaking, Burgenland is now facing the shortest election campaign of all time. From January 2 to 6, 2025, a party in the state parliament will officially open the election campaign almost every day. From the point of view of the groups, there is not much time until the early voting on January 10 to win the hearts of the 250,399 eligible voters.
Experienced political observers assume that almost a third of all Burgenlanders will go to the polls or vote by letter on January 10. One of them is the liberal top candidate Norbert Hofer. He had been traveling around the country for two months. His big FPÖ election launch will take place on January 3 at the Oberschützen Cultural Center.
At the same time, Hofer announced that he would cast his vote at the Pinkafeld town hall late in the afternoon of January 10. “In Burgenland, an early voting day was introduced to give the population more flexibility in voting and to increase turnout. “I am specifically concerned about the latter,” the FPÖ top candidate emphasizes. He calls for active participation in the elections. Those who do not want to anticipate will have the opportunity to do so on January 19. This time the outcome is expected with even more excitement than usual.
