The next ÖVP top politician is throwing in the towel: Education Minister Martin Polaschek announced on Thursday that he would withdraw from politics. Only on Tuesday did Minister of Integration and Women’s Affairs Susanne Raab announce that she too would take new paths.
Foreign Minister Alexander Schallenberg, who is temporarily taking over as interim chancellor, had previously announced that he would no longer be available in a government led by FPÖ leader Herbert Kickl.
The departure of Karoline Edtstadler has also been clear for weeks. As announced from Salzburg on Thursday, she will take over Wilfried Haslauer’s position there in the summer and become the new governor of the state.
More information will follow soon!
