Lehendakari Imanol Pradales makes a second trip to Brussels

Date:

He plans to return to Brussels on January 28 and 29 to hold several meetings with representatives of the new European Commission, such as Executive Vice President Teresa Ribera or Transport Commissioner Apostolos Tzitzikostas, among others.

The Lehendakari will travel to Brussels on January 28 and 29 with the aim of positioning Euskadi and strengthening contacts and relations at the highest level on issues that directly affect it in the European institutions, such as promoting industry and transition, connections, defense of including the Basque language, public housing policy and the Atlantic macro-region.

This is the second trip that Lehendakari Pradales makes to Brussels – after the trip in November – and coincides with the start of the mandate of the new European Commission led by Ursula von der Leyen. Imanol Pradales will hold a first meeting with some of the Executive Vice Presidents and Commissioners responsible for the most strategic areas of the European agenda for Euskadi’s interests.

In this sense, the planned meeting with the Executive Vice-President of the European Commission, Teresa Ribera, stands out to discuss issues related to competition and the energy transition. Likewise, Imanol Pradales will meet with the President of Nouvelle Aquitania, Alain Rousset, and with the Commissioner responsible for Transport at the European Commission, Apostolos Tzitzikostas, to jointly discuss the connection of the Basque Y with Paris.
