The new government under US President Donald Trump has now picked up the next flag topic after the mourning flag for the deceased former state leader Jimmy Carter. Washington has ordered that only the star banner may be blown on all United States abroad.
The “one flag policy” is part of the elimination of all diversity programs to promote minorities and women. Already in the election campaign, Trump had hit out at these programs in both government and business that they discriminated against white people – especially men.
“The flag of the United States unites all Americans under the Universal Principles of Justice, Freedom, and Democracy. These values, which are the foundation of our great country, are shared by all American citizens,” said a letter to all consulates and messages around the world. Only the flag for prisoners of war and that for refugees or illegally captured persons (see photos above) are excluded from the ban.
Employees of diversity programs on forced vacation
The Trump administration has ordered responsible federal authorities to place their diversity program employees on forced leave. The diversity, equity and inclusion programs would “split Americans by ethnic groups, waste taxpayer dollars and lead to shameful discrimination,” a statement from the Human Resources Management Authority (OPM) said as of Tuesday. In particular, all agency heads were ordered to cancel relevant training courses by Wednesday evening, terminate associated contractors, and delete websites and social media accounts with appropriate advertisements.
