The Lehendakari, Imanol Pradales and the President of the Parliament, Josep Rull, met in the Catalan Chamber to strengthen relations and address common interests between both communities. The institutional visit culminates two days of strategic meetings between Euskadi and Catalonia.
The President of Parliament, JOSEP RULLreceived this Friday the Lehendakari, Imanol Pradales, in a meeting in the Catalan Chamber. During the meeting, both sides agreed to strengthen cooperation in key areas such as industry, language, connectivity and self-governance.
Rull waited for Pradales in the doors of the building, where he was received with honors by the body of the Mossos d’Esquadra. Pradales has emphasized the importance of this approach between both communities: “I am satisfied because it has been a very constructive visit. We have spoken honestly and agreed to work hand in hand in common interests.”
Also underlined the relevance of collaboration Promote the officiality of Basque and Catalan in European institutions and guarantee the continuity of European cohesion funds that recognize the different realities of the continent.
The Lehendakari has thus concluded his first official visit to Catalonia, which began on Thursday with a meeting with the President of the Generalitat, Salvador Illa, at the Palau de la Generalitat. During that meeting, both leaders addressed issues such as the economic model, the high-speed connection and the health situation.
Pradales also highlighted the coincidence of diagnoses between both autonomy’s on shared challenges, such as immigration management. “The Basque and Catalan countries share many historical, cultural and political ties,” he said.
This visit strengthens the strategic alliance between Euskadi and Catalonia and marks another step in their cooperation against shared challenges in the European and state context.
