From Thursday, February 6, the second wave of the climate bonus for 2024 will be paid. This affects those who were not yet entitled on the first date on July 2, 2024 or whose regional category has not yet been increased.
According to the Ministry of Climate, this applies to around 500,000 people. This corresponds to a payment of around 96 million euros. The bonus goes to people who changed their main residence in the first half of 2024 or have moved to Austria. Newborns from this period are also among them.
Most people (400,000) receive the bonus per bank transfer, the remaining (100.00) receive vouchers by post. With the first wave, almost 8.7 million people in Austria already got the climate monus.
Restores from CO₂ Tax Redistributed
With the climate bonus, the income from CO₂ tax is re -distributed. The basic amount is 145 euros. Depending on how well the housing region is equipped with public transport, there are still regional compensation between 50 and 145 euros. The payment takes place automatically, without an application.
“This immediately benefits people in Austria to the reform of the ecosocial load. Everyone who protects the climate saves in the CO₂ price and ultimately has a lot of climate bonus, ”said the Ministry of Climate in a broadcast on Friday.
The Blue -Black Coalition negotiators and negotiators are planning to remove the climate monus and reduce climate promotions.
