The city councilor of Vienna, Peter, gave me a lot of material, according to which guest patients from Lower Austria and Burgenland Vienna would cost taxpayers per year. Hacker’s invitation for the representatives of the two federal states to seek conversation with him has so far been denied.
What made him think about whether there can be two waiting lists in the future: one for patients from Vienna and another for patients from the other federal states. Is it realistic that this proposal will be implemented? Hacker in an interview on krone.tv: “It is realistic to do it: yes. Is planned for the coming weeks or months: no. And I still assume that in the federal states all the laws and similarities have been read slowly and perhaps fall back on my offer, to have a conversation and to propose solutions. I find it unbearable that this is on the back of the patient.
No agreement in financial equalization
Hans Peter Doskozil from Burgenland and the regional council of Ludwig Schleritzko recently cleared clearly hackers and referred to the financial equalization in which the delicate causa was regulated. Hacker then read out in an interview from the current federal legislation Gazette of the Republic of Austria through “organization and financing of health care”. In Article 41 it is compensated for domestic guest patients: on the inside. Hacker, quoting from the article: “For domestic guest patients: Interior is not paid for the duration of this agreement to compensate for the reimbursement of the State Health Fund. Bilateral agreements with regard to the guest patient: inside is possible.
You can’t “take away” the problem
Hacker, furious: “I have no idea what similarities they speak. But it is clear: in financial leveling we have not even planned an agreement on guest patients. The bottom line is that it is a balance of 450 million for the guest patients, for which we do not get anything. And that is the point: the Viennese taxpayer pays 450 million euros per year of the money that is only devoted to Vienna. And I ask to understand that you can’t assume that we just take it away. No, the Viennese cannot pay for it and they don’t want to pay that either.
