According to the controversial Bundestag voices about migration policy, the Union parties CSU and CDU try to distinguish themselves from the right department. During a joint performance at the Small Party Congress of the CSU, both CDU boss Friedrich Merz and CSU chairman Markus Söder emphasized part of the “brand wall” against the AF on Saturday.
“No, no and no: there is no collaboration,” said Söder. Two weeks before the election of the Bundestag he called the CSU representative: “Yes, yes, yes, yes, we are the protective wall, we are the firm wall.” Merz went one step further: “We would reveal our country. I would reveal the soul of the CDU if I even gave my little finger to make such a policy in Germany.
Merz: “AfD is looking for salvation on the lap of Putin”
The CDU is in the tradition of major political decisions for Western bonding, for the European Union, for the euro, for NATO. “In principle, all this asks the AfD, and they want to find their salvation and peace on Putin Schoot,” said Merz, referring to Russian President Vladimir Putin.
CDU and CSU in the Bundestag recently accepted a possible majority with the help of the AfD (and the FDP) to enforce their proposals for migration policy. On the sidelines of the party congress, Merz was also reconciling with a view to the SPD and the Greens: both parties are “fairly reasonable” when it comes to reasonable and correct decisions. After the elections, he “wanted to have reasonable conversations with the SPD and with others,” he said in an interview with Bavarian Radio. Söder said more skeptical about the asylum policy: “I don’t know if there is much to the SPD, but I know one thing: the greens will not be a partner when it comes to an effective and sustainable limitation of migration.”
Söder warns churches of political restraint
In his speech as a replica, Söder suggested more restraint to both churches in political issues. The Bavarian Prime Minister also stated that the free state pays the salaries of the churches – and that the Union is the only party that is still on the side of the churches. “I know how multiple churches are organized. Union, AfD and SPD lose something on the ground
In a current Insa survey, the three strongest political forces lost in an Insa survey, meanwhile, slightly lost terrain (see the image above). Union, AfD and SPD lost one percentage point for the “Bild Am Sonntag” compared to the previous week. CDU and CSU are still clearly at the front with 29 percent, followed by the AfD by 21 percent and the SPD with 16 percent.
