Alternative offers? – Dreier Coalition is now considered unlikely

Date:

This time, ÖVP and SPO focus on confidentiality in the coalition interviews. It is about exploring compromises in the areas where none was made until the beginning of January. Whether there is a coalition can certainly be next week.

“What I hear is that they are good conversations,” said the social -democratic president of the Renate Anderl Chamber. The politicians who had met for conversations are very aware of their responsibility. Anderl was reluctant to do the specific content.

It is planned that ÖVP and Spö only become public if it is clear whether a collaboration is possible. An information lock was almost imposed on the outside.

A missing parliamentary member costs a majority
It is still not decided whether a double coalition will be the target. This would have the risk that the two parties will only have one mandate in the National Council. A single missing person would already cost Schwarz-Rot the majority.

That is why other parties must be approached to complete partnerships on certain content. A corresponding offer probably also goes to freedom, so that they have no kind of opposition monopoly. A real three -way coalition, as it was originally planned with the Neos, is now considered unlikely.
