Linda McMahon-Ex-Wrestling Boss becomes the American Minister of Education

The former wrestling boss Linda McMahon was confirmed as Minister of Education for the US government under Donald Trump. In her hearings for the Senate, McMahons announced that he wanted to circumcame the political power of the American federal government in the field of education.

A majority of the 51 senators confirmed the nomination of McMahon on Monday (local time), all 45 democratic members of the Congress Chamber voted against them.

Minister donated the election campaign
The minister now confirmed was an important donor and in favor of Trump in the election campaign. Moreover, she was the co-chairman of the transition team used by Trump before he took office, namely preparing the takeover of the government and coordinating the occupation of around 4,000 posts.

In the announcement of the nomination of the former boss of the World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) Organization (WWE), the 76-year-old would call “efforts” in order to give back the States more power in education policy. In the election campaign, Trump had announced that he would abolish the Ministry of Education in the case of an election victory – and then called McMahon “to make himself unemployed”.

Attack on public education
The federal government plays a rather subordinate role in financing the education system in the United States. The possible abolition of the Ministry of Education is confronted with serious criticism from Democratic Congressmen, teacher associations and many parents, because they see an unprecedented attack on public education.
