Chancellor Christian Stocker (ÖVP) spoke on Wednesday with ex-geisel Tal Shaurham. He invited the Austrian-Israeli and his family to visit the federal chancellery in Vienna. SHOHAM was abducted on October 7, 2023 by the terrorist organization of Hamas and was released 505 days later.
“I am very happy that after 505, Tal Shaham could return to his loved ones almost endlessly long days,” said Stocker. “At the same time there are still too many hostages in the catch of Hamas, their families eagerly wait for their return”. The Government of Austria would support all efforts to help the ceasefire -fires and hostage agreement between Hamas and the Israeli government.
Stocker also invited SHoham and his family to come to the federal chancellery during their next stay in Vienna.
Grandmother Shaohams fled from Vienna for Nazis
The former hostage was abducted with his wife Adi and the two children, the then eight -year -old -oldnaveh and three -yegs -dold Yahel. At that moment they visited the in -Waws. SHOHAM is a grandson of a survivor from the Holocaust from Vienna. The grandmother fled Vienna from Vienna in the 1930s. As a result, her son Gilad Korngold and her grandchildren were entitled to an Austrian passport. She lived in Israel until her death.
