CDU boss Friedrich Merz said that the Russian ruler Vladimir Putin is paying war against Europe. The country would be behind attacks on data networks, arson attacks and murders in Germany. Former Kremlin -Baas Dmitri Medledew then described Merz as a “liar” and compared him with Goebbels.
Joseph Goebbels was a Propaganda Minister in the Nazi dictatorship under Adolf Hitler. “You are a bad start, Fritz!”, Wrote the vice presented by the Russian National Security Council and former president on Telegram. Fritz is a dirty word for German in Russia and refers to the war crimes of German forces in the Second World War. He hoped that Merz ended like the Nazis in 1945, Medledew continued.
The CDU politician had said in the German Bundestag on Tuesday that Putin waged war against Europe, not only “to the territorial integrity of Ukraine”. It is “a war against our country that takes place every day: with attacks on our data networks, with the destruction of supply lines, with arson, with order murders in the middle of our country, with the spy on the barracks, with disinformation campaigns (…)”.
Medvedev picked up these formulations and said, “Yes, your Naziland, Merz, waged exactly such a war to our country 1941-1945.” Medvedev, who was Russian president from 2008 to 2012, is known for its sharp statements against the West. The Ukrainian government, in turn, says to see itself in a deputy war with the West.
