Main is charged – Disputes about trans -athletes escalate in the US.

Date:

Now Trump’s Ministry of Justice is focusing on an American state. His minister Pam Bondi sued Maine in a dispute about transmeners in women’s sports. The accusation: The Governor of Maine would jeopardize and discriminate against women.

US President Donald Trump signed a decree in February that was intended to exclude Transmensen from participating in women’s sports, especially in public schools and universities.

“The war against women’s sports ended with this decree,” Trump explained at the time. States that did not hold on to it should expect that federal funds will be removed.

A state ignored its instructions. Maine discriminates against women by missing local leadership to protect women in women’s sports, said Minister of Justice Pam Bondi.

The Democratic governor Janet Mills accused Trump in a first reaction that he is not concerned with school sports or the protection of women and girls. Trump’s government is concerned with enforcing their will to states.

Trump has been focusing on mills for months
The Maine government has been attacking for two months, with consequences for school children, hard -working fishermen, seniors or young parents. “Today it is said that it is a warning for all states: Maine is perhaps one of the first to draw the anger of the federal government in this way, but we will not be the last.”

In February Trump explicitly asked the Governor Mills during a meeting with representatives of the States of the States whether she would participate in the decision and threatened that he would otherwise shorten federal funds. In a recording of the meeting it could be heard, as Mills said, “We’ll see you in court.” For her resistance it is praised by liberals from the United States on the highest tones.

Transmensen or transgender are people who do not identify with the gender that is attributed to their birth. Trump refuses that trans women who were born with a biologically male body participating in women’s sports.

Trans-athletes Absolute rarity
It is unclear how many transgender students are currently participating in school sport events in Maine. The responsible school association of the State (MPA) said that this year only two transgender athletes would participate in high school sport for girls. The lawsuit of the Ministry of Justice refers to at least three transgender athletes. The subject currently dominated the headlines of correct channels such as FOX News. Critics accuse Trump symbols.
