US President Donald Trump apparently made a prominent personnel decision for the first time during his second term. His security adviser Mike Waltz has to leave his position. Because of his carelessness, he had started the so -called signal affair.
The National Security Advisor has recently become an uncertainty factor for Trump. Waltz was the one who accidentally added a journalist to a signal chat group in which high-ranking government members discussed an attack on the Houthi militia in Yemen. Moments later it came out that the assumed security expert also treated his own data carefree.
“Spiegel” journalists found passwords, phone numbers and private -mail accounts from Waltz freely accessible online. According to US Media, he would have used his private accounts for official purposes.
Trump now pulled the ripcord. Both Waltz and his deputy Alex Wong would leave their posts, on Thursday the television station CBS and the Reuters News Agency, with various anonymous sources.
Trump has played the incident so far
The opposition Democrats accuse the government of endangering the lives of American soldiers with the disclosure of military plans. As a result, they demanded the back of prominent safety politicians such as Waltz. The president has soaked the incident and spoke about a “witch hunt” to government members.
However, Waltz is not the only problem that child is Trump. Defense Minister Pete Hegseeth would have overlapping security requirements. The former Fox News presenter is also said to have shared the attack plans with his family.
The “New York Times” and the CNN broadcaster reported on Sunday that Hegseeth reported confidential information from the Ministry of Defense in March in another private signal chat group. The former soldier rejected the reports and accused the media of wanting to ruin his reputation. Trump has also been behind his defense minister.
