The alternative to Germany (AfD) has filed a lawsuit against the federal office for the protection of the Constitution (BFV). The background is the recently challenged classification of the party as “secure judge -wing extremist struts”.
According to ATD, the lawsuit was put forward to the Administrative Court of Cologne. The BFV is based there. A spokesperson for party leader Alice Weidel, Daniel Tapp, confirmed the submission of the court case on Friday.
Earlier, the party had asked the federal office by warning to take back the classification and sign a statement of order – until Friday 8 hours. Since the authority did not respond, according to the AfD, the prepared urgent application was submitted.
Party classified as “secure judge -wing extremist”
The lawsuit is intended to prohibit the BFV in court from classifying the AfD as a secure extremist from the right or observing, treating or classifying in this way. In the previous warning letter, the party described both the classification and its announcement as illegal.
The protection of the Constitution had made it public last week that the AfD was no longer classified as a suspected case, but as a “secure judge -extremist efforts”. On the site, the authority referred to a “extremist, extremist characteristics of the entire party”.
Expert opinion supports the assessment of the constitutional protector

The new classification has far-reaching consequences: Although the suspicion is already permitted in the suspicion, intelligence services such as observation, image and sound recordings or the use of V people are permitted, the observation object of lower obstacles for such measures are considered “secure”.
