According to a report, the German Chancellor Friedrich Merz declared the “national emergency situation” for migration only two days after his curses in. The ambassadors of the neighboring countries are currently in the Ministry of the Interior, it is said.
“The new federal government wants to activate Article 72 of the Treaty of the Working Method of the European Union (…). That means: many more border controls and rejections of asylum seekers on all boundaries,” wrote the World Vice Editor Robin Alexander on Thursday afternoon on Platform X.
As reported, the new German Minister of the Interior Alexander Dobrindt (CSU) had previously arranged sharper rules across the German borders. In Bavaria, the police are now checking the boundaries to Austria and the Czech Republic more. Extra officials are also used on the Saxon, Lower Saxon and North Rhine-Westfalian external edges. In Rijnland-Palatinate and in Saarland the checks will start soon.
Here you can see the message from Robin Alexander:
In the future, asylum seekers in Germany must be able to be rejected on the border. According to Dobrindt, exceptions are planned for pregnant women, children and other family members of vulnerable groups who are still referred to the initial reception facilities.
“Not the only step”
The checks would gradually grew up, not a neighboring country overwhelmed, said CDU/CSU spokesperson Alexander Throm. “It is a first step in the turn of migration, an important step, but certainly not the sole that we will tackle now.”
The German Ministry of the Interior has not yet confirmed the exclusion of the emergency situation. There would be no words yet, it is said.
