The Ukrainian domestic intelligence service (SBU) claims that he has discovered Hungarian espionage. Two alleged spies were arrested, the SBU said Friday. The Hungarian government, in turn, accused Ukraine propaganda.
Hungarian Spyering is said to have spied on military facilities in southwestern Ukraine. The two arrested suspected spies were secondary to the Hungarian military intelligence service and were checked from Hungary, said it by the SBU.
Former military personnel
The SBU said that the two suspects were former members of the Ukrainian army. They were recruited by a leadership officer of the Hungarian military secret service and equipped with cash and special equipment for secret communication.
The agents had the task of passing on their supervisors about the Ukrainian anti -fly base batteries and other military capacities in the Transkarpatien region. Transcarpations are in the distant southwest of Ukraine and also borders Hungary.
Hungary: accusations are “propaganda”
The Hungarian government accused Ukraine propaganda. The Hungarian Foreign Minister Peter Szijjarto said before the press in Budapest that the accusations of Ukraine were propaganda. “I would like to ask everyone to be a warning in all such reports that appear in Ukrainian propaganda,” he answered to a question.
“If we receive details or official information, we can handle it. Until then I have to classify this as a propaganda that you should be careful with.”
