According to Czech President Petr Pavel, the current Russia is “in some respects such as Nazi Germany”. “It does not respect international law, it respects the law of the stronger, it has attacked a sovereign country (…),” the politician said.
He spoke on Thursday evening for a concert in the Castle in Prague, which took place on the occasion of the 80th birthday to end the Second World War. Pavel paid tribute to everyone who had fought against National Socialism, Italian fascism and imperial Japan, including the Russian forces. “But that does not mean respect for present -day Russia,” added the Czech president.
“Don’t give in aggressors”
He was proud that his country had a clear position from the start about Russian aggression against Ukraine and the convicted person. The internship of the Second World War is that authorities and aggressors are not allowed to admit. It is necessary to “choose to choose politicians and parties in the fall that seriously mean the safety of our country,” said Pavel.
This statement can be conceived as an indirect request to choose the parties of the current liberal conservative government coalition of Prime Minister Petr Fiala. The current Czech opposition, including the ANO movement of former Prime Minister Andrej Babiš, accuse critics of pro-Russian attitudes. According to surveys, ANO is currently a clear favorite. The parliamentary elections in the Czech Republic will take place in the second half of September or early October.
